“The complexity of the soul’s pain, the symbology of the heart’s pain, materialised by photography through the demonstration of the body’s pain, of the body’s presence, of the body bared before the camera, before us… This is how Sylvia Diez translates – in image form – her current poetics. She transfers from the wet laboratory to the digital one; she steps outside the boundaries imposed by walls and places her work underfoot so that we can observe it in a different way, from a different perspective, on another layer. The installation, the installation object, the picture, the video, or any other medium, everything serves as a support for the body, to ensure the body’s presence in the work.”
